Sales This Week

No kidding. This is all I sold this week.

Paid 50 cents. Sold for $9.99 plus shipping.

I called ebay today. No resolution but they said they would make a report and look into it. I hope this turns around. It scares me how little control I have. I've been listing all week.

UPDATE:

Since my phone call to ebay I've had two good sales, each $35 and a question from a potential buyer. Maybe my call did some good. Maybe it is just coincidence. Customer support sent me a message with all kinds of tips on how to increase sales. Many of them things I already do.

  1. My sales have slowed drastically, your post inspires me to contact eBay as well!

    1. Hi Sonya

I'd encourage you to contact ebay. If there is a problem the more people that let them know the better. I've had two sales and a question from a potential buyer since calling.

  2. I am on several Facebook pages, and the people who sell on ebay are having similar issues. No one has cracked the code, although some say to turn this or that on and off, list a bunch of stuff, etc. My two cents was to rub your tummy and hop on one foot. Ebay doesn't seem to care, or they would give everyone equal access. Some people say their items aren't showing up in searches and have pointed to a phrase that ebay uses about how items are showcased. None of it makes sense. If everyone would have equal access, ebay, sellers and buyers would benefit. Soon, I think ebay will be implementing a program where you pay to play — pay for advertising, so your items get top billing. I think ebay is trying to be Amazon, and ebay needs to be ebay. From what I hear, ebay isn't very focused on their own mission. Best wishes to you as you navigate the world that is ebay, because many people out there are having the same issues as you. Do you belong to any Facebook ebay/online sales support pages? You might be able to find some insight or at least commiserate. Hang in there.

    1. Hi Rush

I spend a lot of time on the Scavenger Life blog. No one else seems to be having such a drastic drop in sales more the normal ebb and flow. I did have two sales yesterday after calling ebay and a question from a potential buyer. Maybe my call did some good. Thanks for commenting!

  3. mine are down but not drastically....but enough where I didn't do a Tuesday's sales blog. I have several items I can't find in listings either. Things that should have sold almost instantly. Hoping it picks up for you

    1. I hope things pick up for you too Grace. I'm glad you've got a steady job income now but I can't imagine how tired you must be.

  4. we had 330.00 in sales this week. I think the main thing that causes lack of sales is just the kind of thing you sell. We sell mostly clothes but I have been expanding into shoes and that is what helped us this week, I had almost 80.00 in Boots sold. My new thing is plush toys even though I haven't sold any yet, lol

    1. I like to sell plush too. I like prepping them for their pictures. Kind of feels like I'm saving a toy from the Island of Misfit Toys from Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer ;)
