Cool Marilyn Monroe Find

I found this at an estate sale a couple of weeks ago. I picked it  up because of the cover but when I opened it up to see what was inside I suspected it was a great find. I paid $2 for it and after several days took a best offer of $54.99 plus shipping. The first picture is the cover. The others are the serigraphs inside. There were several more of the serigraphs. They were printed on a heavy paper suitable for framing. There were other recent sales of the same issue for up to $100 but mine had some minor damage and I was happy with the offer.  BOLO this issue of a large sized magazine called Avant Garde. 1968 Marilyn issue.

  1. I purchased an issue of Avant Garde a while back that had John Lennon lithos in it. I got it for 50 cents and thought I struck gold. After being listed for ages, it finally sold for I think $11.95 or somewhere thereabouts. Your issue is way better than mine was and those color serigraphs are awesome. Nice sale Nancy. Congrats!

    1. Thanks Lorraine! It was one of those finds where your heart quickens and you feel like you might of hit a big one! It wasn't huge but I'd be perfectly happy with this type of find on a consistent basis!

  2. Before I read your post, the first thing I thought of when looking at the photos was how cool those would look framed! She's still as popular as ever!
