BOLO Bill Cosby Sweaters

Yesterday I purchased the sweater pictured below. This is an example of the BOLO I'm referring to today..The Cosby Sweater. This is the second time I've found a 'Bill Cosby' sweater. They sell well. Especially the Coogi brand. See completeds My sweater is the Travelsmith brand. I paid $3.79 for it and I'm asking 39.99 for it.

The sweaters are usually very bright, loud, and colorful. Many have a 3D affect knit into them (see my second pic). They are usually very abstract and geometric. They are easy to spot in a rack of sweaters.

The show is celebrating 30 years this fall so there are many recent news pieces on the sweaters. Hopefully that will help sell more sweaters! I've got some more Cosby Sweater related links below the pics. Did you ever own or sell a Cosby sweater?

  1. I just found my first Coogi sweater a few weeks ago. By comparison to the sweaters that go for such high $$$ mine is bland. Just teal, black and white. But I think it will still go for a good price to the right buyer. Good luck with yours, I love the colors and texture.

    1. Good luck with your Coogi sweater! I found a Coogi shirt once a few years ago but have yet to find a Coogi sweater.

  2. I have found and sold a few. They are BOLO's for sure. I think the most I sold one for was $125. I'm always on the hunt for another.

    3. Was yours loud? Mine is boring browns and I priced it lower because of that but still hope to get a good price out of it.

    4. Yes, it was very loud. I am always on the hunt for Coogi's. The great thing is they really stick out in rows full of thrift clothes, so they're easy to spot. The last one I got was hanging in between some other clothes being rolled out at GW. I saw it out of the corner of my eye, turned on a dime, and chased the rack to snatch it. It's pretty competitive at this GW with other resellers. I had to pounce on it!

    5. LOL. When I read your comment I imagined a predator out in the wild suddenly seeing it's prey hidden in the grass. Seconds later you're on the run. Chasing it down. You've got it.

  3. I pick up all brands that look similar to what you have and have had very good luck selling them for Halloween costumes. I've sold them between $35 & $50 bucks. Always worth picking up and knowing how to title them!
