My Best Sales This Week

Sales have picked up a little the last few days. Below are my best sales. The first sale is a brass Holy water font. I paid 1.99 and it sold for 29.99 plus shipping. This is my second religious item to sell.

Music Box. I had this music box for about a year. It sold for 27.99 with free shipping.

The book below sold for 34.99 plus shipping. I can't remember how much I paid but it would be less than a dollar. So many books I pick up are only worth about 9.99 with free shipping but once in a while I hit a winner. I love books and it's hard for me not to buy them. The problem is they take up a lot of room.

This wool mens Timberland sweater sold the same day I listed it for 34.99 plus shipping. I paid 3.00 for it. I'm thinking about buying mannequins for my clothes. I think they look much better on a form of some sort. If you use a mannequin what kind do you use?

I want to share a couple of pages from a 4H cookbook I sold this week. It's from 1959. Washing dishes was quite a bit more complicated back then. It made me laugh so I thought you might enjoy it too.

I hope your sales have picked up too. Have a good week and a nice Thanksgiving.

  1. I am always buying books too that aren't worth much but I just love them. I love cookbooks and buy them to sell and end up keeping them.. I buy books for my kids all the time too. So I know what you're saying.

I just bought torso forms a few weeks ago. I bought a male and female 2pack on eBay for $30/fs. I don't sell tons of clothes so it is enough for the occasional stuff.

That font is beautiful..I will bolo for those!

  2. Good sales! I'm thinking of some mannequins too. I don't want to spend much, so I think I will buy the plastic torso ones on Amazon.

    1. I don't want to spend too much either. I figure I can always upgrade if I need something better in the future

  3. Congrats on the brass holy water font! That's a great find. I have never seen one.
The washing dishes tutorial is interesting. I work in many school cafeterias that don't have enough help to use their dishwashers, so they use the 3 compartment sink method. The third sink has water in it that is heated for sanitizing. You need to wear a thick heavy glove to dip the trays down into the water so you don't get scalded. It's absolutely primitive. I've never seen anything like it up north. Some schools are changing over to a chemical sanitizer which uses just warm water and is much safer.

    1. Interesting. Doesn't that method take more time/person hours then the dishwasher would?

  5. I got mine from Robert Hamm. At the time i bought them they were cheaper than on ebay, may not be the case now as it has been a while. I too use the hanging forms.

  6. Congrats on the sales! Man, I need to get eBay listing. I'm worried that a lot of my Etsy stuff won't sell if I switch it to eBay but it's worth looking at again.
