My Trumpet Vine

It's very cold here today. Two degrees above zero. Here are some pictures of my trumpet vine from a few years back. I can't wait for warm weather to come again. These pictures make me feel it's nearish.
My vine has grown bigger since then. It's my favorite of anything in my yard (mostly weeds).

  1. Wow Nancy, it is amazing! I can't wait for mine to grow. We just transplanted one of them. It's a few years old, but was growing more in the shade and I'm guessing that's why it hasn't bloomed yet. We'll see this year. I'm getting kind of anxious for the warm weather too. It was -5 here this morning when I was sending the kids off to school. I'm dreaming of going to the beach. LOL

    1. Thanks Margaret! Each flower only lasts for one day but some days the vine is just dripping with flowers. I think it only blooms for about a month but it's so beautiful. I'm sure yours will do better in the sun. Mine are both in full sun.

  2. I can see why you love it. So pretty! Thank goodness we have photographs to remind us of warmer, more colorful days. We have a hard freeze warning today. The forecast says we're going to see 70 Sat and Sun and then it's back to the 40s next week.

    1. Hi Lorraine :) I hope you don't get that hard freeze today. I imagine a lot of plants and things die that aren't used to that?

    2. I saw that some people covered plants with boxes. We don't have anything in our yard except trees and shrubs, nothing that will die from frost. In the towns that have a lot of flowers on their street corners, they usually cover them up at night. The temps are around 70 this weekend but very windy and some rain is expected. We had a power failure in our area for a couple of hours yesterday. Never a dull moment!
