Updates

Surgery Update

Today I went to see my surgeon for my post op visit. Everything is good and I feel like I'm almost back to 100%! Pretty amazing. I've had surgery before that took weeks to recover from. The medical assistant asked me if I needed her to write me a work release. It felt so good to know that I don't have to do that because I am self employed as a reseller! I don't answer to anyone but myself. Yeah!!

Bag Sale

After the doctor visit I went to one of my favorite thrift stores. It's a small store that raises money for the local lutheran school. They were having a bag sale on all clothes and shoes (that included hats) for $2 a bag. I filled six bags. I got a bunch of cool vintage hats, vintage jackets and tshirts. I also bought a bunch of other stuff that wasn't included in the bag sale. My total was about $45 dollars. I had so much that I had to check out and load my purchases and then go back in to shop some more. It's a great time for me to get a lot of new inventory as I just got an offer from ebay a couple of days ago to list free for a week. Since I'm almost to the end of my free listings for my store subscription the offer came at a good time.

Vintage Hat

Here is one of the hats I purchased today.  It's a hat that was produced when the DOW first passed 10,000.  Here is an interesting article about the hat with a picture of Rudolph Giuliani wearing one.  I couldn't find another like it for sale or sold so I priced it at $49.99. That might be kind of high but without any other hats to compare it to it was a little hard to know where to start. If it doesn't sell I'll bring it down a bit.

Sales have been kind of slow the last couple of weeks but with the surgery slowing me down a little I'm sure I didn't list as much as usual which translates to slower sales.

Thanks for all of the well wishes. Like I said I'm feeling fine. It really didn't set me back at all.

  1. Great to hear that you are back in the saddle so soon. Thrifting is a great Rx to get you on your feet!!
I love bag sales, the stores I shop at don't do bag sales but a lot of the church yard sales do bags near the end. Love 'em

    1. I love it Annabel, thrifting as a post surgery Rx. True though! They wanted me out of bed and walking around :) Can't find many other activities that fit the bill closer. This thrift doesn't do bag sales very often. I was LUCKY to stop there on the right day. This was their end of the season, clear the store for winter, bag sale. I couldn't believe I found as much as I did because the racks were already very thin. I should have taken a picture of how anemic they looked!

  2. You, dear, are a trooper! Post op dr. visit, bag sale - love it!

If I have to go to a dr. appt, errand, etc., I automatically think - now where's the closest thrift - to get the most out of my time and gas, of course.

Glad to see you up and about so quickly.

    1. I do the same thing Ree Cee! I don't get to this thrift that often because it's not on my side of town. It's only about 20 minutes away from me but I do save it for when I'm already over there.
