Bonanzaaa!

I uploaded all of my ebay listings to Bonanza about 3 weeks ago and had my first sale today. Woohoo! I paid $1 for this tie and it sold for 29.99 with free shipping. It's a Ralph Marlin tie. They make a lot of novelty ties. You've probably seen some around. Some of them are hard to find and go for a bit of coin. See the completeds. Mine is Halloweenish (Dracula) so a great time of year for it. I like ties because they are easy to store and ship (very cheap to ship as well). I don't really have a good source but once in a while I find one or two worth taking a chance on. I see other bloggers who find very upscale ties to sell. I never find those. For me I either find vintage 'wide' 70s ties or vintage 'skinny' ties. I also sold a psychedelic wide tie recently. It sold for 17.99 plus shipping.

Have you joined Bonanza? If you have how has it gone for you? I have been a member for a couple of years but just recently (3 weeks ago) attempted to sell on it. I've also uploaded several listings to etsy. I'm diversifying as I know many other resellers are doing what with all the changes and uncertainty that being a reseller brings. I have also sent in a couple of boxes of books to Amazon for FBA. Previously I'd only sold books through Amazon as a merchant. I like the idea of sending the books in and having more room for inventory, even if it' means a smaller slice of the pie when something sells.

  1. I uploaded all of my listings to Bonanza about a month ago. I had three sales in the first week, but nothing since. Seems easy enough to navigate, and it's not like I am spending extra time there listing, so it seems like a worthwhile endeavor for the time being.

    1. I agree. Three sales seems pretty good from what I've heard from other resellers. I hope you get lots more!

    2. I actually had another sale this afternoon. A $50 Monopoly game, and Bonanza's fee was only around $1.50(!).

  2. I have 30 listings on Bonanza. They're not double listed on eBay though. I moved them over one at a time as they ended. I've been there about a month and although there are views of my items, there haven't been any sales. I'm hoping for the best over there. I hope they do some advertising for the holiday. That would help. Cool Dracula tie! I bombed with ties the same way I bomb with mugs.

    1. My ties like my mugs sit a long time before they sell. I've got some that I've had listed for over a year. That's why I like ties. They take up so little room that it doesn't matter if they take forever to sell. Good luck with your Bonanza store. You're right about Christmas adverts. Hopefully they read my blog ;)

  3. I love ties. I sell quite a bit of them. I usually stick to unusual novelty ties. I had a seller email me telling me that I was crazy asking $26.99 for my Ralph Marlin ties as they are worth only $5. I put BO on my ties to auto accept at $14.99. And I sell them in that range all the time. Let him sell his for $5. LOL

    1. That's right! My one pet peeve about ties is my own fault. How often I buy one and bring it home to find stains on it…too often. I also usually pick up Ralph Marlin, Disney, other cartoon characters, and cool holiday ties.
