Heads up eBay Sellers

I noticed something new while listing the last few days. A while back eBay added an option to automatically relist something 3 times when the item ends. It was a check box that was added right at the end of the listing before you'd hit submit. Well I think it's only been the last few days but they've changed this option so the checkbox is checked by default. So if you do not uncheck the check box your item will be automatically relisted 3 times. I know some people have their listings automatically relist anyway but I don't. I like to manually relist each item. Sometimes I change the time of day that the listing starts. Sometimes I choose not to relist the item at all. So heads up on that one. You may be getting something you don't want. Below is a screenshot of the listing form and the option I'm referring to.

  1. Yes! This is really annoying me! I think I let something go live before unchecking the box. Also, I noticed that when I go to change shipping from priority to first class, I have to click it twice because it automatically jumps to back priority on the first click. They have all these dirty little tricks you have to watch out for these days. Grrrr!

    1. You can go back in and uncheck the box if you realize it. My problem is I don't think of it. I'm so used to my listing process that I bop through it pretty quickly. I have to remind myself to slow down and uncheck that box. This morning I checked some listings I did yesterday and had to uncheck the box.

I've noticed that about shipping too. I thought it was a fluke. I guess not :)

    2. I've noticed that too about changing the shipping! It's annoying! Also, sometimes when I want to relist something and change it from a "fixed price" to an auction it won't let me. When I try to click on "auction" it bumps me to the top of the page! Is there a reason for this? Thanks! ~~Pam

    3. I've never had that happen Pam. I don't do many auctions but haven't had a problem when I do.

  2. Ugh! I did a lot of listing this weekend. I have to go back and uncheck a lot of boxes. Thanks for the heads-up.

    1. I wonder if it can be done using the bulk edit tool?

  3. Pam, I've noticed that, too. I have to end the BIN and then do a sell similar. At that point, I can change it to an auction format.
